John (Rusty) Davis, CPA, CGMA, CITP, Principal
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1979, I began my career with regional CPA firms before founding Davis CPAs in 1995. Since then, I have remained committed to helping entrepreneurial businesses navigate financial challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve long-term success.
As technology transformed the accounting profession, our firm embraced innovation early, strategically transitioning to cloud-based technologies beginning in 2010. This forward-thinking approach has allowed us to continually enhance the way we serve our clients through secure, efficient, and collaborative solutions.
I earned the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation from the AICPA in 2014 and the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) credential in 2019. In recognition of our firm’s commitment to innovation, I was honored to be named a finalist for CPA.com’s 2018 Innovative Practitioner Award, and Davis CPAs was recognized by Accounting Today as one of the Best Firms for Technology in 2023.
What I enjoy most is collaborating with our talented team and our clients to solve complex challenges, build lasting relationships, and help businesses grow with confidence.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active through outdoor sports and adventures, and appreciating the arts.
Beth Landfair, Senior Accountant
As the Senior Accountant at Davis CPAs I enjoy building long-term client relationships and contributing to our firm’s mission of delivering trusted accounting, tax, and advisory solutions.
I am a proud 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland. Prior to joining Davis CPA’s in 2017, I served as Controller for two large companies in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. My experience in private industry has given me a strong understanding of the day-to-day challenges business owners face, allowing me to provide practical guidance and personalized accounting solutions.
As an Intuit ProAdvisor QuickBooks Level 2 Certified professional, I enjoy helping clients maximize their productivity with QuickBooks. Whether it’s streamlining bookkeeping processes, improving financial reporting, or providing ongoing accounting support, I strive to make financial management more efficient and give business owners greater confidence in their financial information.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, gardening, hiking, attending retreats, caring for animals, and spending time with my husband and daughter.
Lindsey Zimmerman, Client Coordinator
As the Client Coordinator at Davis CPAs, I enjoy building strong relationships and creating a positive experience for our clients and colleagues. A 2013 graduate of East Carolina University, I earned a degree in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business Administration.
Before joining Davis CPAs in 2020, I led the Membership Sales and Marketing Department for a large private golf and country club, where I helped grow membership to a waitlist. That experience reinforced my passion for exceptional service, effective communication, and building lasting relationships. Today, I bring that same client-focused approach to our firm, where my goal is to ensure every client receives responsive, personalized support throughout their experience with Davis CPAs.
I am proud to be part of a team that is committed to delivering trusted accounting, tax, and advisory services with professionalism and excellence.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two young boys, exploring new adventures as a family, staying active, listening to live music, and relaxing at our local vineyard.
Patti Davis, Executive Assistant
As a people person, I enjoy supporting the Davis CPAs team through internal projects and initiatives that enhance productivity, communication, and overall operations. I earned a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland. My role allows our accountants and advisors to focus on delivering exceptional service to our clients by supporting the firm behind the scenes.
In addition to my work at Davis CPAs, I am a Certified Holistic Wellness Coach with a passion for nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being. I believe that a healthy, balanced lifestyle helps individuals perform at their best, both personally and professionally.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, hiking, staying active, and gathering with friends and family.
